WEI is the pseudonym of New Zealand electronic producer William Lambert
WEI is my music identity that pulls Neo-Soul and electronic music together with pop-culture infected reality to create a uniquely polished sonic landscape.
My music as WEI compels the listener to experience intricacies and dimensions of sound, as I carefully place minute details that grow and evolve with each listen.
Growing up in China and Singapore, and from traveling all over the world, my influences extend to both traditional and contemporary Asian culture amongst many others.
Light-years from being just pretentious hogwash, WEI has continued to narrate my imagination through the audio spectrum for many years, describing emotions and thought that seem to make more sense each and every time I release something new.
WEI demonstrates over my multitude of albums and extended play projects that the worlds in my head are real, multi-layered and richly diverse, so that any idea or thought can become a journey to inspire.
